Dallas Film Society and Museum of Art team for film school summer camp
The Dallas Film Society, sponsor of the AFI Dallas International Film Festival, is teaming with the Dallas Museum of Art to offer a pair of week-long summer camp instructional sessions to local high school and middle school kids (one session for each age group).
The camps (which will be held at the Center for Creative Connections inside the Dallas Museum of Art) are designed to give kids an insight into what various professions in the film industry are like, from the standpoint of workaday reality.
Here are session specifics:
June 22nd – 26th, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Daily – High School Students (Grades 9-12) Cost: $450
Topics to be covered:
• Monday: Directing and Casting
• Tuesday: Acting
• Wednesday: Special Effects and Animation
• Thursday: Costuming and Makeup
• Friday: Producing
July 20th – 24th 10AM-4PM Daily – Middle School Students (Grades 5-8) Cost: $450
Topics to be covered:
• Monday: Acting
• Tuesday: Claymation and Special Effects
• Wednesday: Costuming and Makeup
• Thursday: Music and Sound
• Friday: Storyboarding and Storytelling
Students will want to bring their own lunch on Mon.-Thurs. (no refrigeration available), with lunch to be provided on Friday.
