— Steve Sherman has been promoted to the position of Associate Director of Sales at the Warwick Melrose Hotel. Previously he had been Senior Sales Manager at the hotel, and he joined the Warwick Melrose in 2004. Sherman will focus on growing group sales for the hotel.

Sherman brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience to the position, including positions as Director of Sales for the Magnolia Hotel of Dallas and Catering Director for the Doubletree Hotel at Campbell Center in Dallas. Sherman also has served as a consultant for Sofitel Hotels in Los Angeles and Minneapolis, and he has held positions on the Food & Beverage side of the hotel business.

"In today's challenging environment, Steve's depth of experience is invaluable to our sales efforts,” said Joe Massar, director of sales and marketing. "He has been a key driver in helping us reach new organizations and generate new opportunities for the hotel.”

Located just minutes from downtown Dallas, the Warwick Melrose Hotel is a perfect mix of character, charm and modern luxury. The Four-Diamond AAA hotel opened in 1924 and was named a Dallas historic landmark in 1983. It offers 184 luxury guest rooms and suites, approximately 6,400 square feet of banquet and meeting space, and gourmet dining and relaxation at The Landmark Restaurant and The Library Bar.

I have old home movies from the 1960's,.. showing my family swimming there at the Melrose Hotel Pool Club. The original Old Warsaw Restaurant was just down the street as well. It is a landmark and has been a true asset to Dallas. Good luck to Steve Sherman and the new position.
