The School for the Talented and Gifted and the School of Science and Engineering at the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center have a lot to brag about this year, as they came in 1-2 in Newsweek's list of the nation's top high schools. The list is compiled by dividing the number of Advanced Placement International, Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at a school by the number of graduating seniors.
Both schools made the top 5 last year, so their success comes as no surprise. Thirty other North Texas high schools made the top 1,500, including five more in the top 100.
