Cowboys knew about previous (negligent) collapse of a Summit structure

WFAA reports that just before the Dallas Cowboys contracted Summit Structures LLC to build their practice facility, a similar fabric structure built for the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority collapsed in February 2003. The port authority's chief counsel, Greg Iannarelli, said he was contacted by Bruce Mays, the Cowboys director of football operations, who expressed concern for going with the same company. But the Cowboys began construction on the practice facility later that year.

In 2006, a judge ruled that the Philadelphia collapse was due to design flaws. The engineer who oversaw that project was in charge of design for the Cowboys' practice facility. Iannarelli says that over several years, he remained in contact with Mays, but the Cowboys are refusing to comment at this time.
