Fort Worth-based American Airlines cutting 133 jobs in Dallas-Fort Worth area
Part of an overall layoff of 1600.
Fort Worth-based American Airlines will cut 1,600 positions in a staffing reduction that includes 133 positions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The layoff includes 1,200 flight attendant positions, 300 airport services staff members, and 50 cargo service positions. Voluntary exit packages will be offered to employees who will take early retirement.
Dallas-Fort Worth's cuts will include 66 airport services and cargo positions such as baggage handlers, and 67 flight attendants.
