Fort Worth chef Tim Love seems to have made good impression on Top Chef Masters Wednesday

Chef Tim Love, of Lonesome Dove and Love Shack fame, competed on Wednesday night in the premiere of Top Chef Masters, a Top Chef offshoot on the Bravo channel. While he lost the round, he appears to have charmed viewers with his aw-shucks personality.

The format of the show is that top chefs -- real ones, not unknown chefs trying to be top chefs -- compete four-at-a-time in rounds from which one emerges victorious. This week, the victor was Hubert Keller. Tim Love having not won was eliminated, along with chefs Christopher Lee and Michael Schlow.

The format sounds fun, and it would be great to offer more details from having personally screened the episode, but there is no %#$! electricity at my house, not since Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. The episode is thus frozen inside my DVR, where it will remain until Oncor repairs the %#$! transformer behind my neighbor's house and re-connects the %#$! electricity. By the time that happens, the "news" about Tim Love not winning his round on Top Chef Masters will be even older than it is today, nearly 36 hours after the show aired, and so a play-by-play review of it will be utterly pointless. Anyway, this isn't about me, it's about Tim Love. Tim Love and his awesome appearance on the Bravo channel.

I'll be interested to see how the TC episode, at 9pm Weds, got frozen inside your DVR if you lost power half an hour earlier...

Love was likeable, even his complete unfamiliarity with something called a "freezer".

oh dear - matt, are you saying that the DVR doesn't automatically record a show even when there's a power loss? i thought those things were able to magically record anyway. the DVR thing is completely voodoo to me

lol @ offsite DVR recording

Sounds like a start-up opportunity, TG! Seems federal courts have no beef with it!

Bravo reruns all of their shows to death so you'll be able to see it eventually.
