Power outages persist in North Texas
Wednesday's overnight (June 10) round of severe storms and heavy rainfall across North Texas knocked out power to a total of 500,000 customers, according to Oncor. By Thursday night (June 11) 180,000 were still burning candles for lighting purposes, and this morning (Friday, June 12) the power company says about 120,000 electricity users in this service area are still in the dark.
This correspondent drives into the Preston at LBJ Pegnews offices by traveling across Royal Lane from the east most mornings; today the commute was complicated by the fact that the traffic lights were still out at Northwest Hwy. at Easton, and at Royal and Skillman. (Lights at these same two intersections were disabled yesterday, as well.)

Oncor, says:
This has been the third-worst storm in Oncor's history. By noon Friday more than 400,000 people had power restored, but 85,000 are still waiting. Those without power should seek alternative shelter to avoid high temperatures and humidity this afternoon.

okme2, says:
I have not had power since the storm on WED night and calls to Oncor have yet to provide an idea as to when the power will be restored!
I know they are working on restoring power across DFW, HOWEVER, a timeframe as to when a crew will be in the neighborhood would BE NICE!!
I know there is a plan in which the crews are working by and I would think that Oncor would be able to provide some timeframe as to when we can expect power to be restored.
