TV soundtrack friendly singer Greg Laswell comes to Prophet Bar July 8
Lyricist/singer/multi-instrumentalist/producer Greg Laswell performs live in Dallas at the Prophet Bar on July 8th, headlining the “Off I Go” summer tour. Laswell has been touring non-stop since the release of Three Flights From Alto Nido, which debuted at No. 23 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart and was heralded as one of the Top 10 albums of the year by Filter founder/publisher Alan Miller.
After including three songs from Greg Laswell’s latest album, Three Flights From Alto Nido, this season the producers of the hit drama Grey’s Anatomy asked the acclaimed singer-songwriter to pen and perform a song specifically for the show’s season finale. “Off I Go,” the resulting composition, and title of his summer tour, was the final song used in the two-hour, two-part season finale of Grey’s Anatomy. Trivia fans should take note, the Grey’s season premiere last fall featured “And Then You” in a pivotal scene, which essentially gives Laswell musical bookends to the series.
With his elegantly expressive piano technique and feathery acoustic guitar work, Greg has drawn comparisons to such reputable songsmiths as Jeff Buckley, Coldplay, Ron Sexsmith and Radiohead. He has been heard on NPR, the iTunes Indie Spotlight, Yahoo!'s Who's Next viewers choice program, and most recently prominent on TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Shark, Without A Trace, Smallville, One Tree Hill and MTV's The Hills.
