Four days after storm, Oncor customers in Dallas area still have no power
As of Saturday night, four days after Wednesday night's storm, about 5,000 people in the Dallas area still had no power. Oncor is saying they're optimistic that repairs will be done by Sunday morning.
Know what else Oncor is saying? Here's a couple of comments from the unfortunate customer-service representative yesterday who fielded my call, when I asked for a timetable as to when the outage in my neighborhood might be addressed:
"The philosophy is that, if we were to tell you when repairs are scheduled, but then there was an emergency, you might be disappointed."
I guess that's true for some people -- that they'd be angry to be told a date and then have the date not fulfilled. But at least it would be SOME information.
But this line from the Oncor rep was the best: "Well, you know what they say: Expect the worst and hope for the best."
