Milestone Farmers Market in Dallas changes hours to third Sunday of the month
DALLAS The Milestone Farmers Market which features organic vegetables, grass-fed meat and poultry and artisanal foods producers who are part of EatGreenDFW.com, has changed its hours and is moving inside to beat the summer Texas heat.
The market now runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the third Sunday of the month and will be set up inside the main event room at the Milestone Culinary Arts Center at 4531 McKinney Avenue. The next market will be on Sunday, June 21 with subsequent markets being held monthly through November.
"We wanted to get both the producers and shoppers out of the Texas sun," explained Chef Sharon Van Meter, the executive director of the Center," so we're moving the market indoors."
Shoppers at the market will be able to try and buy seasonal, locally grown vegetables, pasture-raised meats and poultry products, locally made cheese and dairy products, farm fresh eggs, locally made spices, peppered jellies, locally roasted coffee, desert chips and sweet salsa.
Chef Van Meter also plans on conducting several mini-cooking lessons in the Milestone test kitchen to demonstrate the best ways to cook grass-fed meats. More information is here.
