Road rage amongst North Texas drivers second only to New York City
According to a survey done by Autovantage, drivers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are second in the nation when it comes to road rage. People using cell phones and eating while driving are cited as big factors toward road rage.

John McClelland, says:
How about the ones who have their children unbuckled in the car bouncing around, putting on makeup, grabbing something off the floor board, driving extra slow and then speeding up when you try to pass, driving while intoxicated, cutting you off within 2 inches of your front bumper, slowing down traffic to pop a wheelie.....

add no signaling on turns and lane changes, folks driving 50 in the fast lane, all the wasted space on HOV lanes...is there any reason to doubt why Dallas drivers get angry?

Im of the opinion that at least 1/2, if not more, of the people in this area need their licenses revoked, plain and simple. Why there hasnt been more road rage-inspired shootings in the area is nothing short of a miracle.
I agree, people around here are down right rude and stupid in traffic. Ive driven in other cities across this country, including Los Angeles, and the people here are some of, if not, the worst in the nation when it comes to allowing their idiot offspring to roam the car while they put on eye makeup, talk on the phone and eat a sandwich while not paying attention to the road.

[Insert random rant]
Guess since I learned to drive in North Texas and majority of experience is in DFW, I don't really take note of how bad it truly is.
I have driven a bit in NYC and I gotta say up there it's offensive out of necessity...otherwise you won't get anywhere. Down here it's simply discourtesy most of the time.

Pavel Lishin, says:
I'm with Scott. I do notice people driving like jackasses, but for the most part I'm just glad that people drive at a reasonable pace. When I moved to Austin for a year, the fact that half the people drove five miles under the speed limit infuriated me.
But then I realized it's because they're all high and don't want to get pulled over.

I learned to drive in NC and also did some driving as a teen in NJ, so I have had a couple areas to compare to. At the very least in NJ, you might flip everyone off and blow your horn at every chance you get, but at least people will attempt to drive with the flow and get where they are going without lollygagging eating a bagel or watching TV in the back of the SUV.
