Texas Rangers 5, Houston Astros 4

The Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros 5-4 on Wednesday in a game that ran 10 innings. The game was also noteworthy because Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez broke the Major League Baseball record for "most games at catcher," this being his 2,227th game at that position.

Here's some play-by-play between Houston Astros fan Rosanna Ruiz and Texas Rangers fan Marc Lee:

8:51 p.m.

Rose: Good Rangers/Stros game on now.

Marc: Man, I can't see it. The Rangers won yesterday. Score?

8:53 p.m.

Rose: 4-3 Astros. It's swung back and forth a bit.

Marc: What inning?

Rose: Bottom of the sixth. Nolan Ryan is in the stands. His wife is hot. When did they add red brick to the backstop area?

Marc: It's been there forever. Maybe since the beginning. They've never had ads back there. I saw two guys in matching Ryan T-shirts wandering around Uptown earlier.

9:20 p.m.

Rose: Pence just tied it up at 4.

Marc: Bastard.

9:29 p.m.

Rose: Omar Vizquel is still in the game? Geez.

Marc: He's petrified by now.

10:04 p.m.

Rose: Tied in the 10th at 4.

Marc: Goddammit.

Rose: Kinsler got on first on an error. Young up now.

10:06 p.m.

Rose: Kinsler just stole his second base. No throw from Pudge, who had to catch a breaking ball.

Marc: Too bad, Pudge.

10:10 p.m.

Rose: Bases loaded no one out. Damn, how did that happen?

Marc: Hurrah.

Rose: Cruz is up and he already homered. He just popped up.

Marc: The Rangers already have the Silver Boot, right? They won four?

Rose: I think so. Big deal.

Marc: They can grow pot in it.

10:12 p.m.

Rose: David Murphy just line drived to right field and they won. Why are they calling them Nolan Ryan's Rangers?

Marc: Go Rangers, kill the Astros.
