Victims of 2004 Dallas Zoo gorilla attack to receive $500,000 settlement

6

The Dallas City Council is set to approve a $500,000 settlement for the three victims of a 2004 gorilla attack at the Dallas Zoo. The victims feel the amount is too low, but state law doesn't require the city to pay any more than that.

So, they're getting $500,000 for the privilege of having the most amazing ice-breaker story at parties?

Some people have all the luck. Also, wicked gorilla scars.

From linked story:

Heard said her son also has nightmares about the attack so she refuses to let him do anything involving gorillas now.

Literally lolled in the office. "Mingling with gorillas seemed like a good thing for my son at the time. It's all fun & games until someone gets maimed."

Now John... we all know where you're going with this.

If we pay them anything for letting us point at them and laugh, we'd have to pay you.

Ain't happenin'
