Eighth-graders at Dallas ISD’s Lang Middle School will have to retake TAKS test
The Texas Education Agency has decided that eighth graders from Dallas Independent School District's Lang Middle School will all have to retake the TAKS test on June 30.
This move comes after state regulators were made aware of "severe testing irregularities" which so far remain unspecified -- because the investigation is ongoing.
Some students among the 407 involved may be hard to round up over the break, administrators worry. Sadly for the kids, it looks like none of them are at fault in terms of the "irregularities" -- but they're being forced to pay for it by losing some vacation time, or (if they can't be located before June 30) appearing before a grade placement committee.
