Fandom fangs come out when Twicon 2009 hits Dallas July 30 - August 2
The unofficial Twilight convention, Twicon 2009, is slated to take place at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel July 30 through August 2. According to the event's website:
The event will feature a Twilight movie screening, live Twilight inspired band performances, Volturi Masque Ball, opportunities to meet Twilight cast, dozens of breakout sessions, panels, workshops and more, as well as a Vendor Hall where dozens of vendors will be set up for your shopping pleasure. We will also have the Artists’ Alley, where you can display fan made art and goods. For additional information about the program agenda, please go to Programming.
Confirmed special guests include Twilight actors Christian Serratos (Angela Weber), Billy Burke (Charlie Swan), Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale), Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen), and Mike Welch (Mike Newton).
In addition to other Twilight-inspired bands will be the Arlington teen trio, The Bella Cullen Project. The first to post songs related to the series on MySpace, the girls, now just sophomores in high school, have already been on MTV's TRL and have apparently attracted the attention Twilight author Stephenie Meyer.
And, if you must, here's the trailer for the second movie, Twilight: New Moon, due out in November:
