Fort Worth-based SkyDrill Power Systems erects wind turbine for testing
Fort Worth-based renewable energy company SkyDrill Power Systems recently erected its first wind turbine at West Texas A&M University at Canyon.
They'll spend the next few months testing it to see how much power it generates and whether it's a viable thing. It's a vertical-axis wind turbine whose motion the Fort Worth Business Press describes as being like a coin spinning on its edge, as opposed to the more commonly seen horizontal-axis wind turbines that spin like the propellers in an airplane.
