San Francisco Giants 3, Texas Rangers 2

The Texas Rangers found themselves on the losing end of another close game Sunday night, going down 3-2 to the Giants in San Francisco. The loss was the fourth straight for the Rangers, who have seen their 4 1/2 game lead over the Angels for the division whittled down to just half a game.
Rangers starter Kevin Millwood was excellent in the loss, surrendering just three runs --two of them earned-- on eight hits over seven solid innings. Millwood could not match known Ranger-killer Barry Zito, however, who broke out of his $126 million funk to improve his record to 18-5 against Texas.
Zito, who had lost his four previous outings, took a no-hitter to the seventh inning against the punchless Rangers. Only Andruw Jones' two-run home run in the seventh got past Zito in the win.
