Tarrant County College chancellor resigns, gets big bucks compensation package
Tarrant County College trustees met for six hours yesterday (June 22) to decide what to do about the employment contract in effect for Chancellor Leonardo de la Garza.
In the end, they voted to accept de la Garza's resignation and award him $700K in compensation for the two years remaining on that contract during which he will no longer be serving as chancellor.
One of the attendees at the board meeting was Larry Meeker, a plaintiff in a lawsuit which questions the legality of the contract de la Garza received in 2008.
