The Rangers messed with the snake, and got the fangs Tuesday night.
The Texas Rangers dropped their fifth straight game Tuesday night, losing 8-2 to the Diamondbacks in Arizona. The loss -- the fifth straight to a National League team -- dropped Texas to 37-32, now tied with the Angels for the top record in the AL West.
Rangers starter Matt Harrison took the loss after yet another terrible performance, surrendering seven runs over three-plus innings of work. Harrison, who walked four and struck out just two, fell to 4-5 on the season with a 6.11 ERA.
Jason Jennings and Doug Mathis took over in the fourth and gave up just a single run the rest of the way, off an atrocious throwing error by catcher Jerrod Saltalamacchia.
There was very little in the way of offense for Texas, as the team scattered eight mostly-harmless hits over the course of the game. Michael Young went 2-for-4 with a triple, while Saltalamacchia went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the top of the fourth.
