DART line by convention center hotel, city hall being touted by Dallas officials
Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert and other city officials are pushing for a new DART line to run by the new convention center hotel and under City Hall, despite that plan being the most expensive option for a second downtown rail line. DART supports a line that would run along Young Street, as its the only one that comes in under the amount of money DART has to spend. But city officials say the extra expense -- around $300 million -- would be worth it in order to bring more development to the southern downtown area.
