Big metal sculpture near Cowboys Stadium to be funded by Arlington professor, philanthropist
University of Texas at Arlington professor Allan Saxe is aching to spend some of his retirement savings on an ostentatious metal sculpture to be -- um -- ERECTED near the new Cowboys Stadium.
(Actually, he WANTED his name to appear somewhere on the stadium grounds itself, but Arlington city administrators convinced him to contribute his $100K towards construction of the 50 ft., gaily-lit, perforated metal installation set to go up nearby.)
It appears that the PBS&J-designed sculpture does not yet have a name, although some have referred to it as a "big ice cream cone." (Oooh kaaaay ... )

How did I know that Prof. Allan Saxe was behind this? I remember when he received a half million dollar inheritance and had trouble giving it away. Anyway, kudos to the star of the parody of the late Michael Jackson's Thriller ,*"Clucker"*!
