The - um - "ice cream cone," daylight projection

University of Texas at Arlington professor Allan Saxe is aching to spend some of his retirement savings on an ostentatious metal sculpture to be -- um -- ERECTED near the new Cowboys Stadium.

(Actually, he WANTED his name to appear somewhere on the stadium grounds itself, but Arlington city administrators convinced him to contribute his $100K towards construction of the 50 ft., gaily-lit, perforated metal installation set to go up nearby.)

It appears that the PBS&J-designed sculpture does not yet have a name, although some have referred to it as a "big ice cream cone." (Oooh kaaaay ... )

How did I know that Prof. Allan Saxe was behind this? I remember when he received a half million dollar inheritance and had trouble giving it away. Anyway, kudos to the star of the parody of the late Michael Jackson's Thriller ,"Clucker"!
