Fort Worth’s Avenue of Lights officially lit to mixed reviews
This Star-Telegram report details the "official" lighting of the Avenue of Lights along downtown Fort Worth's Lancaster Avenue by Mayor Mike Moncrief. (They had actually been turned on before, but who's counting, eh?)
What's worth noting are the range of comments appended to the story, which are weighted heavily toward the nay-sayer side of things, as epitomized by the commenter who says "These things are eyesores and will be blown down or hit by lightning soon."
(Guess he hasn't seen a weather forecast lately ... )
