North Texas Tollway Authority has video to explain all-electronic cashless toll collection
A video providing information on the North Texas Tollway Authority's (NTTA) transition to all-electronic, or cashless, toll collection (all-ETC) is now available online.
The President George Bush Turnpike is scheduled to convert to all-ETC on July 1. The entire NTTA System will follow with the conversion of the remaining roadways in 2011.
TollTag customers should not notice a difference. However, cash collection on the roadway will be eliminated. ZipCash customers, motorists without a TollTag, will be billed for each transaction, by mail, at the higher ZipCash rate. The cash-paying customer will be identified by high-speed cameras that will capture images of the vehicle's license plate. To save time and money, ZipCash customers can sign-up for a TollTag at www.ntta.org.
All-ETC will enhance safety, improve mobility and air quality, as well as increase fuel efficiency on NTTA roadways. ZipCash customers will benefit from the convenience of "driving now, and paying later" at the ZipCash rate. Additionally, TollTag customers will save up to 45 percent off the ZipCash rate and have the added convenience of managing their account online. TollTag customers, whose accounts are backed with a credit card or debit card, may continue to use their TollTags for parking and pass through at both DFW International and Love Field airports as well as on any toll road in the state of Texas.

What a fancy way of saying that ZipCash is nearly twice as expensive as getting a TollTag.
