Texas Rangers 9, Arizona Diamondbacks 8 (12 innings)
The Texas Rangers bats finally came alive when they most needed it Thursday night, pounding out a 9-8 extra-inning win over the Diamondbacks in Arizona. The win improved Texas to 39-32 on the season, a half-game above the Angels for the AL West lead.

Chris Davis was tired of these monkey-fightin' snakes on this Monday-to-Friday plane
With one man on and two outs, Chris "El Rey de Strikeout" Davis took a 2-2 pitch deep to right field to break a 6-6 tie. David Murphy followed up with a solo shot right afterwards, providing enough insurance for even the Rangers bullpen to carry out the win.
Davis finished 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI and a double. Davis, who earlier in the week set an all-time major league record for quickest hitter to get 100 strikeouts, improved his average to .209 on the season.
Other highlights included Andruw Jones' three-run blast in the fifth, as well as Ian Kinsler going 2-for-5 with two walks, three runs scored and a stolen base.
