Gotta love DallasBasketball.com for following so closely to all the drama that is the NBA in DFW. A couple of the rumors the site is discussing are:
1) Rasheed Wallace was in town partying at the Ritz not but four days before free agent signings can happen, which is, of course, July 1. Nobody can confirm if his intentions here had anything to do with basketball, but I suppose we'll get to see how it all shakes out starting at midnight tonight.
2) Dallas point guard and free agent Jason Kidd is scheduled to meet with the New York Knicks on Wednesday morning. DB.com is quick to note, however, that Kidd lives in New York and is also likely to visit a number of other teams in cities that he doesn't call home. But guess who's also camping out in New York right now? Mark Cuban. The owner plans on meeting with his Kidd at midnight tonight to express the Mavs intention to keep him on roster. Hopefully, the rest of the meetings after will be mere courtesy.
3) Sports Illustrated ranked Dallas as the sixth most attractive NBA destination, saying that, "All NBA players owe a debt to this franchise, too, for upping the ante on treatment and amenities, little perks that fall just short of salary-cap violations." I wonder if Rubio read that.
