DALLAS Dallas's very own fashionista at heart, Jacqueline Maccann, launches a new social shopping network for designers in the fashion industry. From multimedia design to fashion show production, Maccann’s knowledge and creativity will aide in redefining the local world of fashion.
As a graduate from the Art Institute of Dallas, her mission has become to offer a helping hand to budding local designers, giving them new and innovative ways to market and sell their products. Her company, named under a dual premise, comes from the modern ideals of today's social media interactions with networking as its central focus. Maccann feels that specific types of interdependency, such as values, visions, ideas, and financial exchange, all play a critical role in determining the ways in which organizations are run.
She hopes Design Society is an empowering environment that serves designers who need to promote their individual creativity -- but lack the voice to do so. With DesignSociety.net, designers can market and sell products through various social networking avenues. Designsociety.net provides the tools to advance each individual's company, whether they are a designer, photographer, model, or buyer. In addition to providing this free marketplace of ideas for designers, Design Society has a link to post resumes and build business contacts by sharing an online profile with the world.
In celebration of the launch, Design Society is hosting a drawing for a search engine optimized website worth $600. In order to enter, designers must upload product photos (no posting fees involved) to DesignSociety.net no later than July 15, 2009. The winner to be announced by July 20, 2009.

Sorry my skepticism is showing again.
How many 'social networking' sites are there now? LinkedIn is one of the few that actually works; and even then you have to really work it.
And a $600 SEO optimized website... I build all my sites SEO complete as part of the construction.
