Spire Realty Group. LP and its new Children and the Arts Foundation will showcase the “Scrap Can Be Beautiful” sculpture exhibit by the students from neighboring Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts through March 2009, in the lobby of Bryan Tower at 2001 Bryan Street.

The sculptures in the exhibit were created using donated scrap metal by Commercial Metals Company. This year marks the 31st year for Commercial Metals Company, a Dallas-based world-wide metals recycling, trading and manufacturing company, to sponsor the metal sculpture class at Booker T. Washington High School. Each year scrap metal from recycling plants in Dallas is collected and donated to the school. Students then design and create extraordinary pieces of art.

“As a building owner and downtown tenant, Spire Realty Group is proud to showcase the talents of the students of Booker T. Washington High School for the second year in a row,” said Caleb Smith president and owner, Spire Realty Group. Last year’s event was so successful that it became the inspiration of our new Children and the Arts Foundation. We look forward to sharing even more events with you as we raise awareness about the exceptional quality of the arts available in Downtown Dallas.”

Now this seems much more appropriate than those electricity sucking pieces they put up in Fort Worth.
