Cowboy Chow in Deep Ellum likely to be a zoo on March 2

In honor of Texas Independence Day (March 2, 1836, of course), Cowboy Chow proprietor and chef Jason Boso will celebrate Texas’ 173 years of independence by offering tacos for $1.73 each.

Boso’s specialty is brisket tacos, made by slow-braising brisket for at least seven hours in one of his flavorful juices (Lone Star beer, beef stock, jalapeño juice, tequila, chicken stock, red wine, or bourbon).

On Monday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the following tacos will be $1.73:

 • Brisket Tacos with jalapeños, queso fresco, cowboy caviar and avocado-lime cream
 • Sharp Cheddar Brisket Tacos with pico de gallo and avocado-lime cream
 • BBQ Brisket Tacos with BBQ sauce, sharp cheddar and sweet and spicy onions
 • Tomatillo-Tequila Pulled Chicken Tacos with queso fresco, pico de gallo and avocado-lime cream
 • Veggie (Cowgirl) Tacos with mashed potatoes, cowboy caviar, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, roasted red bell
 • peppers, crispy tortilla strips and avocado-lime cream
 • Peppered Chicken-Bacon-Ranch Tacos. Self-explanatory.
 • Red Pepper Brisket Tacos with red pepper sauce, cowboy caviar, goat cheese and avocado-lime cream

CitizenKane, i admit it, they have their hooks into me. me being the dining editor. i'll put up pretty much any release related to food or dining, and crafty cowboy chow takes total advantage of that by generating lots of press releases. i find myself cursing them as i enter their press releases, but then i think, wait -- maybe CitizenKane will notice and then he & i can exchange a couple of comments! and then it doesn't seem such a bad idea after all.

i believe this particular piece of shilling has to do with cheap food, which i surmised might be of interest. some readers have [repeatedly] stated their preference for discount prices of one kind or another, and that's the kind of person i had in mind

Enquiring minds want to know why the h*ll CitzenKane can't stop with the conspiracy theories. You've been a visitor here for a while now. Is the idea of a press release such a hard concept to grasp? Why keep tormenting yourself?

Oh, man. I would have totally gone there, but I was out celebrating on Lower Greenville. Cheap delicious tacos are a drunk's delight!

TGub - I'd post pictures, but a few of them ended up being NSFW.

TBush - yes I did, and I'll be there!
