0

If you are a teenager, there is no excuse for being bored if you're in Burleson this Spring Break. The Burleson Public Library teen area is extending the hours the week of March 16 - 20. Stop by anytime between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to join the fun!

Additionally, The Burleson Public Library is hosting a number of special events for teenagers . . . a Guitar Hero Tournament, Trick My Space, and Intro to Role-Playing Games. All three are geared toward students between 12 and 18 years old.

The Guitar Hero Tournament will take place between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. This will be an afternoon of rock-and-roll and friendly competition. The tournament is limited to 16 participants. Call the library at 817-295-6131 to sign up.

In Trick My Space, teens will learn the basics of web site design as Webmaster Matt teaches the ins and outs of setting up a MySpace page as well as some good common sense rules for staying safe online. Trick My Space is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18.

The Intro to Role-Playing Games is slated for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 19. These two hours will have teenagers looking at the history of role-playing games from the classic pen and paper games to today’s modern video games. Don't worry - we're actually going to play some games too! You don't need to bring anything except your imagination.

For more information call the Burleson Public Library at 817-295-6131. The library is located at 248 S.W. Johnson Ave.
