On Saturday, March 7, Dallas Fire-Rescue instructors will roll their mobile "fire safety house" onto the premises of Dallas' Shelton School (at 15720 Hillcrest Rd.) to prepare for a day-long training session designed to teach kids fire safety - and entertain them a bit in the process.
One great way to prevent house fires is to live in a non-flammable cavern. Though it can get a bit drafty.
From 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., real live firepersons (including Lieutenant Shannon Hopps, of DFD's Inspection and Life Safety Education division) will use imitation (?) smoke and flashing lights to simulate a number of fire situations in the special prop house on wheels. Kids will learn kitchen burn prevention, smoke detector use and proper evacuation procedures (in case all the prevention measures come to naught).
Dallas Child magazine is co-sponsoring the event, which is part of their 13th Annual Camp and Summer Adventure Fair.

Agreed and who better to show the kiddies but an inebriated Russian with a "flare" for the pyrotechnics?

I hereby plead the fifth on any suspicious fires that may have been started anywhere near my person for the past 20 years.
Pretty sure I didn't start any before 5.
