Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries offers a near-mint Watchmen #6 in Sunday internet auction
Other copies of Watchmen #6 (DC, 1987) in near mint condition have sold at auction recently for $42 - $78, and there's another one up for bid in this Sunday's Internet Comics Auction through Dallas-based Heritage Galleries.
With the blockbuster film based on the series premiering at theaters across the U.S. tomorrow (Friday, March 6), I'm betting this copy will bring a little bit more. Particularly considering that it includes the origin story arc for the Rorschach character, who's more or less the driving force behind the movie action (and perhaps the most memorable on-screen character we've seen since Heath Ledger's Dark Knight Joker, thanks to an over-the-top performance by Jackie Earle Haley).
A quick search of the Sunday auction shows copies of Watchmen numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8 on the block, also.
It'll be interesting to see whether the film has a significant impact on collector prices for the books.
Be sure to check our our complete review of the Watchmen film.
