Owners of Barley House open new restaurant-bar on Bryan Street in Dallas
DALLAS Bryan Street Tavern is a new restaurant-bar opened by the folks behind Barley House, located in the space that used to be long-running now-defunct Thai restaurant Thailanna.
The place finally opened in February, after months of development and permit-getting, says co-owner Richard Winfield. He and partner Joe Tillotson liked the location on Bryan Street near Peak because it's still somewhat undiscovered (IE, "cheap rent") and because it has a convenient parking lot.
Bryan Street will have the same laid-back atmosphere that the duo has established at previous spots such as City Tavern and the Metropolitan, two downtown Dallas places they no longer own. It'll also host live music.
Winfield has added a nice touch of local history by mounting an old sign he rescued from the beloved dive hang-out Naomi's.
The restaurant will host its grand opening on Thursday March 12, with half-price beer, wine, and cocktails and their "soon to be famous stone-fired pizza", followed by half-price specials throughout the March 13-15 weekend.
