Film and event list: AFI Dallas 2009
The third annual AFI Dallas International Film Festival promises to be an exciting and intensive movie-watching extravaganza - not unlike the previous two AFI Dallas fests.
With so many film screenings to keep track of over the March 26 - April 2 time period, we've done all we can do to make it easy for you to plan your eight days-worth of activities by entering each and every event (where available) into our database.
Below is a listing of the individual events - and don't forget to register on the AFI Dallas mailing list to get early news of AFI-sponsored activities throughout the year.
The Brothers Bloom opens this year's festival on March 26 at NorthPark, with director Rian Johnson and stars Adrien Brody (recipient of a Star Award) and Rinko Kikuchi on hand to walk the red carpet .
The Hurt Locker is one of two Centerpiece Screenings. Director Kathryn Bigelow (anyone else a fan of her classic vampire film, Near Dark?) and star Jeremy Renner will attend the show, with Ms. Bigelow receiving a Star Award.
The other Centerpiece Screening will be Guillermo Arriaga's The Burning Plain; Arriaga (21 Grams, Babel) and star Joaquim de Almeida will attend.
