West and Clear’s weekend events: Hot Club edition

How can you not go see The Hot Club of Cowtown if you live in Cowtown? Obviously, you can’t. A little bit Django Reinhardt, a little bit Bob Wills. Tonight they are at Lola’s Stockyards Saloon. Do yourself a favor and check’em out.

TCU Opera Studio will stage Cavalli’s L'Ormindo Friday through Sunday at Ed Landreth Auditorium. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Directed by Richard Estes of the TCU School of Music faculty, L'Ormindo is a full production, complete with sets by Wade Giampa, costumes by Opera San Jose and a baroque orchestra orchestra conducted by J. David Brock. Tickets will be sold at the door. Admission is $10 for the general audience, $5 for students and seniors.
