Dallas Mayor Leppert takes on convention center hotel opponent
Despite claims that it would never happen, Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert sat down for a debate with convention center hotel opponent Anne Raymond Friday. The debate, which will be aired Sunday morning on WFAA8, centers on whether building a hotel during such bad economic times makes sense, and also on why Harlan Crow, who has financed the majority of the opposition, has not made any public statements about his support.

Im going to guess noone watched this on sunday morning, as your either were sobering up from sat. night or getting ready for old people early church (i.e. suits & ties). I myself was in the previous...But im in agreement, pushing this thing through, like the trinity river debacule, is a bad idea.

Well ...Peg readers in yesterday rag, the story is the Mayor is not doing real good with illusion number 9, and the story is still the same as it was in the 1970's, when is the city going to stop meddleing into other folks business... when the Business man, not a City of Dallas pawn built the Hotels for a reason...
Then again Hotel business is down, very low this year and high for the old Hotels that lined stuff up a year ago....Miss that old Max Goldblatt, even tho he was poor he was honest...to a fault...A/T,..Hotel Historian.
