91-year-old woman to run for Addison city council
Fan Benno-Caris, a 91-year-old Addison resident, has filed to run for city council (although doesn't Addison consider itself a town? How can you have a "city" council if you're a town?). Benno-Caris, who has no previous political experience (but who has won five race walking world championships since she turned 70) will be facing off against Kimberly Lay, who was appointed to the council in November 2008.

Fan is an amazing lady. She's a friend and advisor who encouraged me in launching Pegasus News. There are a lot of civic leaders in our community who consult her before making any big move. She's a wise soul.

Man, one hopes to not only make it to be that age, but to have the gumption to contribute to the community.
