Calais Winery in Dallas’ Deep Ellum district opens tasting room

CALAIS Winery in Deep Ellum has launched a tasting room where customers can come and enjoy their wine for a taste, a glass, or a bottle.

Every Friday night they'll host a wine-tasting party from 6:30 to 10 p.m. with a different theme. This month’s themes are:

- Blind tasting of varietal wines on Friday March 13

- Argentinean Malbec on Friday March 20

- Sparkling & Champagne on Friday March 27 (at 7 p.m.)

During these events, they'll pour 6 to 7 wines including our wines and the wines from the special theme. Prices range from $10 to $15 depending on the prices of the wines poured. No need to be a wine connoisseur to attend.

Calais is also changing its operating hours so that more people can come for a glass of wine after work and on weekends. New hours:

- Wednesday-Thursday 4-8 p.m.

- Friday-Saturday 4-10 p.m.

- Sunday 2-7 p.m.

- Closed Monday & Tuesday

In April, they'll start an education program with three or four classes about topics such as basic wine knowledge, winemaking, varietals and wine styles, wine regions. The program will run 3 or 4 sessions over the month including a wine tasting.

The link in my e-mail said this was a story about a wine-tasting at City Place. Which this does not seem to be.
