Texas highways featured in Tarrant County College art exhibition
Local artist John Alexander Taylor’s “Power Lines” exhibit will open to the public March 23 at Tarrant County College Southeast Campus in Arlington. It will run through April 30, Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.–9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., in Art Corridor II.
The thesis exhibition features a collection of industrial-type images from Taylor’s travels on the highways of North Texas. Pieces include high-contrast mural images displayed on large installations of black vinyl and works on etched Plexiglas.
The Artist’s Reception April 2 from 4-6 p.m. will allow visitors to meet Taylor, who is completing his M.F.A. in printmaking at the University of Dallas. He earned his bachelor’s from the Kansas City Art Institute. His works have been featured in shows throughout Texas and in Missouri, Arizona, Kentucky and Canada.
The exhibit and reception are free. For more information, contact Fine Arts Instructional Assistant Devon Nowlin at 817-515-3406.
