Collin County Republican advocates ouster of Plano city councilman Lee Dunlap

Lee Dunlap states that he is a fiscal conservative; however, I disagree with that.

Plano is having elections for city council members and mayor in May and there is only one incumbent who is running for re-election, Lee Dunlap.

Lee Dunlap states that he is a fiscal conservative; however, I disagree with that.

First, in 2006, Lee voted to give $1 million of taxpayers' money to Fehmi Karahan, the developer of Shops At Legacy, to help build a $3 million dollar private fountain at the Plano town center. The Plano city council and mayor voted 6-1 to approve the $1 million gift. The loan dissenter was Plano city council member Shep Stahel. The reaction from the public was outrage and a petition was quickly created to thwart the $1 million gift for what Shep called "Fehmi's Fountain". The public relations for the Shops At Legacy was going to be bad, so Fehmi Karahan withdrew his request for the $1 million and built the fountain with his own funds. What a concept.

Since then, out of spite, Fehmi has not allowed the Shops At Legacy to have the Christmas tree lighting ceremony to continue where the main street would be closed down and Plano residents would come with their kids to see the lights get turned on. Since then, I have not bothered to spend my money at the Shops At Legacy.

The other non-fiscal conservative act that Lee Dunlap committed was he voted to request a new taxing authority be created for mobility, which I wrote about in my first blog entry.

Lee hides under the guise that he's letting the public decide if they want new taxes but what he's doing is trying to create new taxation without being held accountable by Republican voters. He wants light rail trains throughout North Texas and it's so expensive, the taxation we have now is inadequate to pay for it so he voted to allow the possibility of these new taxes:

* A county gas tax of up to 10 cents per gallon

* A parking fee up to $1 per hour

* A "mobility improvement fee" up to $60

* An annual emissions fee up to $15

* A driver's license fee of up to $24

* A roadway impact on initial vehicle registration fee up to $250

For this, he should be voted out of the Plano city council.

Collin County Buffoon tries to Slur Plano City Councilman. Scot, dirty trickman for Self-serving County judge, cites Shep Stahel's good judgement in opposing the Legacy fountain, as a reason to not re-elect Plano City Councilman Lee Dunlap to another term. It will interest you Scot to know Shep Stahel used his good judgement for a second time in ENDORSING LEE DUNLAP for RE-ELECTION! Keep Your Collin County Nose out of Plano City Elections! The judge will soon have his hands full with his re-election bid and he will need every dirty trick in your bag to come in second. Have a Nice day.

Scot Walker, says:

I'm a resident of Plano.

I'm not associated with any judge and I have no idea how a judge is relevant.

I don't care if Shep has endorsed Lee, if that's true. What is your source on that endorsement?

It doesn't refute the fact that Lee ignored his constituents who were loudly against the $1 million for a fountain.

Lee wants to double your car registration for more rail while Plano is already spending ~$60 million per year. Greg Myer doesn't support SB-855 because "I am concerned that there will be people outside of Plano making decisions for people in Plano."
