Dallas caterer Eddie Deen opens second space downtown that’s smaller and fancier
DALLAS Legendary Dallas caterer Eddie Deen has opened Edison's, a second venue in downtown Dallas about a mile away from his site on South Lamar.
Located at 1724 Cockrell Avenue, in what used to be American Wallcovering (which has since moved to La Reunion Parkway off I-30), the new space is smaller and described by one staffer as "more of an upscale facility" with a 1940s theme that includes the installation of a 1947 Bentley parked in the receiving room.
The entire facility holds about 400, but has a number of rooms and is perfect for parties, receptions, rehearsal dinners, and wedding ceremonies, too.
The space is only for private events, but if you're in the market for a rental hall and can prove you're a serious customer, they offer food tastings on the first Tuesday of every month, with menu options running from the barbecue that's commonly served at Eddie Deen's to more gourmet grub such as pork tenderloin with asparagus.
