ArtCentre showcases Plano ISD Senior art students at closing reception
High school seniors have a lot to look forward to: senior prom, graduation, and for some, college. But if you are a Senior Advanced Placement Art Student in Plano you have one extra…the Senior Art Show. Every March you can find Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate, or AP/IB for short, art students from all three Plano senior high schools showcased at the ArtCentre of Plano. This exhibition will run from March 8 – April 3. Make sure not to miss the closing reception to celebrate this amazing exhibition on Thursday, April 3rd from 6-8 p.m.
Every corner of the ArtCentre is covered with the work from Plano’s most talented students. “Not only do the students look forward to this show every year, the ArtCentre does as well,” said Suzy Jones, Executive Director of the ArtCentre. “It is such a wonderful array of talent, and it is all from Plano.” With wood, photography, sculpture, paints and even fashion, this show has something for every-one and every age.
The closing reception on Thursday, April 2, is open to the public and will be an exciting event for the whole family. Awards and scholarships will be given to the top students from each school and are sponsored by the ArtCentre of Plano and Plano Art Association. The exhibition was juried by the Plano Art Association and the ArtCentre of Plano staff.
The ArtCentre of Plano is located at the corner of 15th Street and Avenue K. in historic downtown Plano. Operating hours are 10-5, Tuesday-Saturday. Hours might vary during Spring Break. Please call the ArtCentre for any questions concerning this exhibition, 972-423-7809, or us on the web at www.artcentreofplano.org.
