Austin360 loves it some St. Vincent during SXSW
Austin360.com's Wednesday SXSW critics' picks spreads the love thick on Dallas-based St. Vincent. Of eight critics, three chose frontwoman Annie Clark, with high praise, as the act to see in tonight's 11 p.m. time slot. While three-for-eight might not sound that grand, no other band was suggested by more critics, whilst well-known indie darlings, The Decemberists, were the only other group chosen three times, with Ida Maria and M. Ward each picking up two nods.
St. Vincent plays at the Central Presbyterian Church on Wednesday night, prompting one enamored critic to write, "Dallas multi-instrumentalist/former Berklee student Annie Clark is the real deal, rocking an ideal venue for her angelic, poignant voice."
