The 32nd annual Texas Christian University Jazz Festival blows into town on Friday, March 27 and sticks around through Saturday, March 28, ending with a big awards concert that evening at 7:30 in the Ed Landreth Auditorium.
Featuring a day-long agenda of classes and workshops (on Saturday), 28 top high school and middle school jazz ensembles will be in attendance.
Highlighting the weekend event will be a performance by jazz great (and former director of the Saturday Night Live band) Howard Johnson, on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Pepsico Recital Hall. Also on the program is the TCU Faculty Jazz Combo. Tickets to this event are $10 at the door.
After spending all day Saturday training aspiring musicians in the workshops, Johnson will perform again at the Saturday night concert - tickets to which are also $10.

Friday, March 27
10:00 a.m. – noon – Tuba clinic with Howard Johnson in PepsiCo Recital Hall (free).
7:30 p.m., PepsiCo Recital Hall -Tuba virtuoso Howard Johnson, with the TCU Faculty Jazz Combo, $10 admission at the door.
Saturday, March 28
9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Ed Landreth Auditorium, PepsiCo Recital Hall - 28 area high school and middle school jazz ensembles, Free.
7:30 p.m., Ed Landreth Auditorium - Awards concert with TCU Jazz Ensembles and guest artist Howard Johnson, directed by Curt Wilson, Joey Carter and Micah Bell, $10 admission at the door.
