The Dallas Mavericks, shy of two injured starters, Erick Dampier and Josh Howard, lost to the Atlanta Hawks on the road tonight. Having lost three of their last four games, Dallas drops one-and-a-half games behind seventh-place Utah in the Western Conference, but remains well ahead of Phoenix to grasp onto the final playoff spot.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 23 points with 12 rebounds, Antoine Wright scored 16 points, and Jason Kidd scored and rebounded eight with six assists. For the Hawks, Joe Johnson scored 24 points while five of this teammates also scored in the double digits.
