The Avengers are a non-profit organization that are eager to give back to the community. The Avengers will hold a food drive for the Lena Pope Home on March 28, 2009 during their home game with the Dallas Bengals at Pennington Field in Bedford beginning at 7:30 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to earn a $1 of the ticket price by donating a non perishable food item for the home (up to $4 off). Ticket prices are $8. In addition to the food drive, the Avengers will host approximately 20 kids from the Lena Pope Home’s at-risk and foster program along with their foster parents.

On April 18, 2009, the Avengers will hold a teddy bear drive for Cook Children’s Medical Center. Fans can bring a bear or other stuffed animals to the April 18 home game against the Collin County Rattlers and receive $3 off a ticket. The Avengers will deliver the stuffed animals, and, at a later date, they will spend some time meeting the children at the hospital.

Finally, the Avengers will host another food drive to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth on May 2, 2009. The food drive will be the same as the drive for the Lena Pope Home. The Avengers will also host approximately 36 families who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House at their home game with the Denton County Patriots on the same night. On May 9, a bye week for the Avengers, the team will participate in the Ronald McDonald House’s Share-A-Meal program by preparing a meal for the families. All games begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Fort Worth Avengers are a nonprofit semi-pro football team dedicated to the preservation of sportsmanship, hard work and dedication on and off the field. Our goal is to globally provide opportunities and give hope for families and individuals in need.

The Avengers believe in the importance of family and helping the community. Through the sport of football, we are able to not only help at-risk youth and families in need, we are also able to provide a positive experience of a great football game for fans, families, and teens.

Todd Jones, says:

If you get a chance, go out to see the Avengers play and help one of these three great organizations out. The Avengers are very friendly folks, both the players and their families.
