Iconic Dallas waterfall billboard restored and running again
After a major face lift, the nearly half-century old waterfall billboard just off Stemmons Freeway in Dallas is flowing once again.
Built in 1962, the gunite rock face was wearing down and has since been replaced with a stronger, waterproof concrete. The fence surrounding the structure has been replaced, but the old clock has not returned. Coors beer, who has been using the sign for several years now, still rents the space from Clear Channel, who owns the sign. The current display plays up Coors' association with Nascar.

I thought they were tearing it down for good! My dad used to tell me of his pranks involving the waterfall and copious amounts of dye. I think that was before they invented the wheel...

Glad the sign is still up there. Laundry soap, made tons of bubbles up there, placed by some pranksters in the 1970's! "wink-wink".

I meet the guy who did sign, many moon's ago, while he took us up there ther whole family in 1963,that is how I became involved with the artist in this city, through my folks at one time, while...Ben Meade..Made the design and sculpted the Pearl Sign, and at the time, it was the largest such sign flowing with water, lights and camera's in the world at the time in 1962...
While it would also become a landmark after 25 years, I left my mark or story on this sign with several other groups, who cant get it.....POP CULTURE has to have a name, Inventor and some D.N.A...dig it, while the old sign, has had several face lifts..... It will require real papers to go on into the future.., I could tell more on this event. then again who cares,.A/T, .Lets poke at the human race....do you have a name for your face..
