The Real Estate Council (TREC) has announced its Dallas City Council candidate endorsements today for the May 9th election.

Members of TREC’s Government Affairs Committee conducted in-person interviews with 21 of the Dallas City Council candidates vying for public office this year.

“It’s difficult to select from such a strong field of qualified candidates, but we feel that this list represents those candidates who are committed to working on Dallas’ most pressing issues, and who possess the skills and experience to get things done,” said Michelle Corson, president of The Real Estate Council.

TREC supports the following candidates for Dallas City Council: District 1, Delia Jasso; District 2, Pauline Medrano; District 3, David Neumann; District 4, Dwaine Caraway; District 5, Vonciel Jones Hill; District 6, Steve Salazar; District 7, Ron J. Price; District 8, Tennell Atkins; District 9, Sheffie Kadane; District 10, Jerry Allen; District 12, Ron Natinsky; District 13, Ann Margolin and George “Brint” Ryan; and District 14, Angela Hunt.

By policy, TREC does not endorse any candidate without first interviewing them. Because of scheduling conflicts, TREC’s Government Affairs Committee has yet to interview District 11 incumbent Linda Koop who is running unopposed. An interview has been scheduled for later this month.

Neal Sleeper, TREC Government Affairs Committee chair, added, “TREC’s Government Affairs Committee supports nominating and electing candidates whose goals are consistent with ours. TREC’s mission is to influence action and support change to accomplish long-term job growth and enhance the quality of life in the North Texas region. We believe these candidates have a vision for Dallas that is consistent with this mission, and they will foster constructive change to accomplish these goals.”
