Texas Meals on Wheels programs will get millions from stimulus package
Up to 400 Meals on Wheels programs in Texas would split $6 million.
Vice President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday that Texas Meals on Wheels groups will get almost $6 million under the new stimulus package. Local groups aren't sure how much money they'll each get, as there are up to 400 Meals on Wheels programs in the state. The Tarrant County Meals on Wheels program has 3,900 clients and serves more than $1 million meals a year to DFW senior citizens.
