SnagFilms teams with Hulu for distribution of their nonfiction film library

SnagFilms, a distributor of nonfiction films founded by Ted Leonsis and helmed by Rick Allen, announced on Thursday (March 19) that they are partnering with Hulu to make portions of their documentary library available for onling viewing through that venue.

A quick look at Hulu's SnagFilm page shows access to such popular docs as Morgan Spurlock's Super-Suze Me, the rock & roll-themed Dig!, the homeless soccer competition chronicled in Kicking It and a film about campus binge drinking getting ready to appear at the AFI Dallas International Film Festival: Haze.

In yet fresher SnagFilms news (as of March 20), the company has announced a partnership with the International Documentary Association (IDA), under the terms of which an IDA channel will be created and maintained on the SnagFilms site, and SnagFilms widgets will be embedded on IDA's site.

In addition, content from indieWIRE (owned by SnagFilms) will appear in a branded news window on both IDA's homepage and its news section. Also, content from IDA's Documentary Magazine will appear (in branded fashion) on SnagFilms.com.

It's all about synergy.
