Carrollton girl spells tonsillitis correctly to win regional bee
On Saturday, March 21, 13-year-old Mouctika Paluri of Carrollton had a "spell" of tonsillitis. And seemed quite happy about it.
That's because her correct spelling of the word assured her of victory in the 51st Annual Dallas Morning News Regional Spelling Bee. Which means she'll be advancing to the Scripps National Spelling Bee for the third (and final, due to her "advanced" age) time.
Ms. Paluri is a student at Creek Valley Middle School.
